Deardorff
8X20 / 12X20
1948-84
The Deardorff 8X20-12X20 was at the time (1948) the last of the banquet
cameras built in the US. The production records are sketchy at best. The
earliest one I have seen had a Eastman Kodak property serial number from
1948. Deardorff made 35 of these for Eastman to do the famous Coloramas
that adorned such sites as Grand Central Terminal in NYC. These were in
use from 1953 to about '74. The base of this camera is an 11x14 bed and
front and a special made rear frame and rear swing unit. The camera was
built to hold a 12x20 back and an accessory 8x20 back was available.
